Teams net victories

Baulkham Hills netballers had a successful run at the State Age Championships earlier this month, with two out of four teams taking home wins

Hills Shire Mayor Michelle Byrne met with the recently crowned champions from the Baulkham Hills Netball Association’s Under 12s and Under 14s side at Wellgate Avenue, Kellyville, on Saturday, July 16.

Baulkham Hills netballers had a successful run at the State Age Championships earlier this month, with two out of four teams taking home wins.

The Baulkham Hills Shire Netball Association entered four teams in the Championship Division of the competition, with the 12 and 14 Years Representative teams both taking out their respective titles.

The 12 Years team was undefeated throughout the competition, while the 14 Years team won 18 of its 19 games and drew one, defending its 2015 championship title.

Meanwhile, the association’s other two entries, the 13 and 15 Years Representative teams, placed eighth and fifth.

The Netball NSW Samsung State Age Championships were held from July 2-4 at venues in Campbelltown, Bankstown and Illawarra, with more than 3300 athletes.
