Bella Vista’s Michelle Lee will row the equivalent of the distance from Sydney to Brisbane during a six-day attempt to become the fastest woman to row one million metres.
Lee will need to row 12km per hour, 14 hours per day for just over six days to reach her goal of breaking the current indoor rowing world record.
The 1000km challenge, just slightly less than the 1022km distance from Sydney to Brisbane, will begin at 6am on Monday, March 27, at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith.
The 44-year-old will be completing the Million Metre Row during the 2017 Sydney International Rowing Regatta, and has encouraged people to come and show their support over the challenge.
“I’d love you to come cheer me on and be inspired,” she said.
“There’ll be competitions held daily for those wanting to try their ability to keep pace on a rower next to me, plus raffles and sponsors goodie bags.”
