Some of western Sydney’s biggest names in sport gathered for a special dinner at the Castle Hill RSL earlier this month.

More than 250 people attended Western Sydney Academy of Sport’s eighth annual ‘A Night With The Stars’ dinner on March 10, raising more than $36,000.

As promised, the evening was filled with stars — from pop group Justice Crew who performed for the guests, to sports commentator Bill Woods who was MC.

Rugby League World Cup chief executive officer Andrew Hill spoke on stage with former Parramatta Eels captain Nathan Hindmarsh about what was in store for the Rugby League World Cup, while Olympic silver medallist Cameron Girdlestone, Women’s Rugby 7s forward Mahalia Murphy and rugby league great Terry Lamb participated in a ‘bar stool banter’ segment.

A WSAS spokeswoman said the academy would like to “acknowledge the fantastic donations of all the event supporters” and thanked its event partners and host venue the Castle Hill RSL.
