Ellie shines bright at Rio

Paralympian Ellie Cole has won six medals, including two gold, at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Swimmer Ellie Cole has won six medals, including two gold, at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

The 24-year-old, who trains at C2K in Castle Hill, won gold in the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay and individual gold in the women’s 100m backstroke – S9.

She won silver in the women’s 4x100m medley relay as well as the women’s S9 50m and 400m freestyle.

Rounding out her impressive tally was a bronze medal in the women’s 100m freestyle – S9.

It was an impressive return to form for the Granville swimmer, who won six medals at the 2012 London Games before undergoing surgery on both shoulders in 2013.

West Pennant Hills Paralympian Rosemary Little finished fifth in the women’s 100m – T33/34 and fourth in the women’s 400m – T33/34 and women’s 800m – T34.
