NSW State Election 2019: Labor vs Liberal | Guide to party policies and leaders

Riverstone voters could be won — or lost — in the classroom, while neighbouring Hawkesbury voters will have their eyes on the road on March 23.

Just three Riverstone candidates from the major parties will compete for your vote on Saturday, March 23, with incumbent Riverstone state Liberal MP Kevin Conolly up against Labor candidate Annemarie Christie and Greens candidate Alex Van Vucht.

Candidates have pledged to build and upgrade schools across the electorate — as the NSW Government and Opposition battle it out over classroom spending to rid demountables from schools across Sydney’s northwest.

When it comes to other election issues, The newly promised Rouse Hill Hospital also became a topic of conversation — with several commitments from candidates about the size and scale of the soon-to-be-built public hospital.

In the Hawkesbury, a total of nine candidates from a range of political backgrounds are vying for votes.

NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet has been replaced on the ballot by Liberal candidate and Hills Shire Councillor Robyn Preston, who will face off against Hawkesbury councillor and Labor candidate Peter Reynolds, Sustainable Australia’s Elissa Carrey, Shooters candidate Shane Djuric, Hawkesbury councillor and Greens candidate Danielle Wheeler, Independent candidate Eddie Dogramachi, the Animal Justice Party’s Sarah Coogans, Keep Sydney Open candidate Perran Costi and Independent Marie-Jeanne Bower at the polls this weekend.

Roads and infrastructure are two of the major commitments from candidates, alongside the protection of the “food bowl” and the promotion of river communities.
