The Liberals have pledged $450 million to ease bottlenecks at black spots including Pennant Hills Rd at Carlingford.
Under an expansion of the “pinch point” removal program, Pennant Hills Rd between the M2 and Woodstock Ave at Carlingford, will be upgraded with an extra southbound lane.
A left-turn lane and dual right-turn lane will be built on Carlingford Rd, which will also be widened between Rembrandt and Hepburn Ave to provide a bus lane and two through lanes heading east and west.
Traffic lights will also be installed at the intersection of Baker St and Pennant Hills Rd at Carlingford.
Treasurer and Epping Liberal candidate Dominic Perrottet said the funding boost would remove 12 pinch points across Sydney.
He said congestion cost Sydney about $6 billion each year.
Baulkham Hills state Liberal MP David Elliott said the program would cut travel times in the morning and evening peak hours.
