Eddie Woo of WooTube nominated for a 2019 Logie Award
Cherrybrook Technology High School maths teacher turned TV presenter Eddie Woo has been nominated for a Logie Award.
Cherrybrook Technology High School maths teacher turned TV presenter Eddie Woo has proven he excels in the arts — he been nominated for a Logie Award.
The Baulkham Hills resident was nominated in the Most Popular New Talent category for presenting Teenage Boss, an ABC program which had him follow 15 teenagers across Australia when they took control of the family finances for a month.
“It was a complete surprise,’’ Mr Woo said.
“I remember doing this show from a perspective of a teacher so the whole TV world was in the background of my brain but I was thinking about how steep a learning curve this was going to be and an opportunity to work with young people, so for all this to happen was a delightful cherry on top of the cake,’’ he said.
Other hopefuls in the category are Joe Jonas (The Voice Australia), Bonnie Anderson (Neighbours) and Courtney Miller (Home and Away).
As part of his Local Hero award, Mr Woo travels across NSW to inspire other teachers when he’s not teaching Cherrybrook’s Years 8 and 11 students.
“That’s the thing I’m most proud of, to be honest,’’ he said.
