Plans for a mega-school complex have been unveiled — featuring a new 2000-student public high school and 1000-student primary school at a massive site in a booming northwest Sydney suburb.

A massive 100 classrooms are proposed for the new Marsden Park High, while a further 44 classrooms would be built as part of plans for Melonba Public School.

Planners for the projects said each school would feature a school hall, administrative facilities, canteen, library and outdoor learning areas.

Meanwhile, the new Marsden Park High will also include plans for a “lecture and movement studio”.

“Based on the anticipated population of 30,200 persons and associated catchments of the

planned school sites, SINSW has determined that the proposed new high school in Marsden

Park will need to accommodate up to 2,000 students and the new primary school in Melonba

will need to accommodate up to 1,000 students,” the planner said.

“The proposed schools seek to provide education facilities that maximise amenity and

sustainability while limiting adverse impacts to surrounding residents and complying with

budget constraints.”

Plans for the mega-school complex will include a series of three-storey buildings surrounding an expansive outdoor learning areas, as well as another single-storey building featuring a gym, hall, lecture theatre and canteen.

“The proposal is essential infrastructure to support the North West Growth Centre and Marsden Park Precinct,” the planner said.

“The proposal will create 440 construction jobs as confirmed by the Cost Summary Statement. “The operation of the new primary school in Melonba and new high school in Marsden Park proposal creates 219 full time equivalent jobs.”
