A rideshare driver has faced court after he allegedly made a female passenger touch his penis in Sydney’s northwest.
Deepanshu Deepanshu, 32, is alleged to have picked up a 31-year-old passenger in his car at Kellyville after 11.50pm on March 25.
Deepanshu, from Acacia Gardens, is alleged to have forced the woman to “touch and rub his penis” without her consent, according to court attendance notices.
He faced Parramatta Local Court on Thursday charged with inciting another to sexually touch him without consent.
In court his lawyer asked for his daily reporting to be reduced and for his curfew to be altered.
He told the court Deepanshu was suffering from “anxiety” to meet his curfew and reporting obligations because he worked in a restaurant six days a week.
Yet the police prosecutor said he opposed the change given the nature of the charge.
Magistrate Andrew George said: “I agree with you. It’s a most serious charge clearly one which will be dealt with summarily.”
When asked by the magistrate how he would plead, his lawyer said he could indicate a plea of not guilty.
Magistrate George reduced his police reporting to four days a week and a curfew of 12am to 8am.
Deepanshu, who is on bail, will return to court in late May.
