About 20 firefighters battled a massive blaze at a Kellyville home overnight, which was reportedly started by a candle inside a kids’ bedroom.
Emergency services were called to Connelly Way following reports of a house fire about 2am this morning.
Officers from The Hills Police Area Command arrived on scene where they found the two-storey house “well alight.”
“The top level of the house sustained serious damage,” a NSW Police spokesman said.
A Hills policeman said the fire was believed to have started by a candle in a kids’ room.
A total of five fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to extinguish the flames.
“We had crews enter the house for search and rescue and to attack the fire,” Fire and Rescue NSW acting superintendent Scott Dodson said.
He said the roof had collapsed on the top floor and the fire was extinguished at 2.51am.
In an update, police said two women, a man and a boy had evacuated the fire before emergency services arrived.
No one was injured.
Inquiries are continuing.
