Identical twins all set for first day at Baulkham Hills North Public

For identical twins William and Joseph Coleman, the hardest thing about starting school will likely be wearing the same uniform every day. The pair start at Baulkham Hills North Public School next Monday.

For identical twins William and Joseph Coleman, the hardest thing about starting school will likely be wearing the same uniform every day.

“They like to dress up,” mum Yasmin Coleman said.

“They can change outfit eight to 10 times a day depending on what show they have been watching.

“They have got between them over 60 costumes and they make outfits out of their other clothes.”

Her two boys — the eldest of her three children — will start kindergarten next Monday at Baulkham Hills North Public School.

They are among 810,000 students who are starting or going back to school across NSW.

Mrs Coleman said her five-year-old boys were very excited about their first day of school and it was a comfort knowing they had each other.

“I think that is what makes them so excited — that they have each other and it adds a layer of comfort for my husband and I,” she said. “They are very excited. They are both looking forward to it and excited about making new friends.”

However, she said she had some concerns about the pair becoming too comfortable together.

“There is a bit of a worry that they find too much comfort in each other and don’t engage with others.”

William, a big Spider-Man fan, said there were three things he was particularly looking forward to about school.

“Number counting and playing outdoors,” he said. “And reading books.”

Today is the first official day of the school year, with most students returning to class during the week.
