A drunk driver who sent a text message seconds before crashing into a family of four walking on the side of a North Kellyville road will face a sentence hearing in November — while the youngest victim remains in hospital nine months after the horror crash.

Lisa Irene Mottram, 51, the estranged wife of former Parramatta Eels chief executive Denis Fitzgerald, crashed into the family which included a little girl visiting from Hong Kong during the night of September 16, 2018.

Ms Mottram had earlier been drinking at The Fiddler with friends and could be seen stumbling into a pole on CCTV footage, before a friend drove her to her Kellyville home from the venue.

The agreed statement of facts stated not long after, she decided to drive her car to visit a boyfriend.

She ploughed into the family of four on the side of Hezlett Rd including a husband and wife, their four-year-old daughter and the man’s sister who had just spent a day sightseeing.

There is no footpath on either side of that section of road.

The agreed statement of facts also stated Mottram sent a text message seconds before the crash.
