Hosam Soueid: Castle Hill man charged with alleged sexual assault

A man has been charged with aggravated sexual assault after he allegedly followed a teen in his vehicle as she walked home.

A man has faced court charged with aggravated sexual assault after he allegedly followed a woman in Sydney’s northwest last month.

On November 25, officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command began investigating a report of aggravated sexual assault.

Police will allege the 18-year-old woman was followed by a vehicle on her walk home about 2am on November 21, before the driver stopped on Cecil Ave, Castle Hill, and sexually assaulted her.

Following extensive inquiries and assistance from State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, police attended an address at Castle Hill and arrested 35-year-old Hosam Soueid on Wednesday.

Police seized a firearm and prohibited drugs, as well as other items relevant to the investigation.

He was taken to Castle Hill police station and charged with aggravated sexual assault and possess unauthorised firearm.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.

Soueid’s lawyer appeared on his behalf via AVL in Parramatta Local Court today.

His lawyer asked for a one week adjournment and he did not apply for bail.

The matter is set to return to the same court on December 23.
