NSW All Schools: All record breakers named, multiple medallists, moments that mattered

There was a cartwheeling entertainer, a giant teen with Olympic goals and young guns who ran like the wind. All the record-breakers and multiple medallists from NSW All Schools.

It was a four day extravaganza of top results, 19 new championship records, teen talent and head-turning performances.

The NSW All Schools championships had it all – and more.

Coco Espie, Sarah Clifton-Bligh, Tammin Lampret, Cooper Robb-Jackson, Delta Amidzovski and Malachi Canning all won an astounding five gold medals to be among the standouts.

Top performances were too numerous to list but here we take a look at some of the youngsters who made their mark in all sorts of different ways and ever new record holder from the meet.

SHOT PUTTER AMOSIA SOATINI CLAIMS AUSTRALIAN RECORD

Trinity Grammar School shot putter Amosia Soatini caused quite a stir at the event.

The 15-year-old smashed the national under 16 shot put record with a massive throw of 21.08m

This saw him break the all schools record of 19.79 which had been set by NRL player Tepai Moeroa.

He also broke the Australian record of 20.6 4m which had been held by Damien Birkinhead.

BILLY BLAIR’S SENSATIONAL COMEBACK

There was no stopping Billy Blair at the championships as he returned from a broken leg.

After breaking the 13 year 90m hurdles record a year ago he came out in the 14 year 200m hurdles with a 26.27.

This took .05 seconds of the meet mark set two years ago.

REMEMBER THE NAME: CHARLIE JEFFRESEN A STANDOUT

Charlie Jeffreson was a standout competitor at the All Schools after becoming the best half miler for his age in the 85-year history of the event.

Tipped for big things before the meet, he lived up to expectations.

The Kings School athlete won the 17 year 800m in 1:50.98, breaking the meet record of 1:52 set back in 1998.

GRACE KRAUSE HAS A MEET TO REMEMBER

The young Temora High school student was an early stand out.

She destroyed the 14 year record in the triple jump with her 12.33 at the event.

This saw her smash the previous meet record held by Alyisha House set back in 2002 by 34cm.

She ended the event with two gold medals a silver and a bronze.

DANIEL WILLIAMS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER

Daniel Williams from Highland Park near Nambucca Heads smashed his own PB to win the 14 year 800M

He ran a 10 second PB in the heat and took the win in 57.91, taking a second off the old mark.

He then set another record in the 400m.

IVY BOOTHROYD ON A ROLL

Ivy Boothroyd from the Sutherland Shire broke her second record in a row with her success in the 14 year 800m.

She ran a 2:09.05 to take down the 2008 record by .01 seconds.

HAYLEY KITCHING TURNS HEADS

Hayley Kitching also made a big mark in the 800m, setting an All Schools record in the 17 year race with time of 2:07.47.

ISSAC BEACROFT’S BIG DAY OUT

Oak Hill College student Issac Beacroft made a big impression in the 14 year 3000m walk.

He took an astounding 25 seconds of the meet record from nine years ago and held by Tyler Jones.

This moved him into the No. 2 for his age group in Australia.

KIPCHUMBA LANGAT’S FABULOUS PB

Wagga athlete Kipchumba Langat produced a PB of 14.6 2m in the 17 year triple jump.

This moved him up to the No. 4 under 20 athlete in Australia and the No. 1 Under 18 athlete in the country.

LOGAN SANDLAND THROWS HIS WEIGHT AROUND

Logan Sandland from Xavier High topped the meet record three times on his way to winning the 15 year hammer throw.

The old mark of 60.97 set a decade ago was left in the dust as he produced a 69.07m for his win.

RASHID KABBA WINS TITLE FOR BEST CELEBRATIONS

Sometimes he dances, others times he cartwheels.

The Westfields Sports Hight student says doing athletics just makes him happy and as long as his celebrations don’t offend, they will continue.

Rashid Kabba (Westfields Sports High) was one of five athletes to win three gold medals at the meet – winning the 16 years 100m, 200m and 110m Hurdles

DOUBLE FOR JACK PROUDFOOT AND HOLLY REA

Jack Proudfoot from Pacific Hills took out the sprint double, winning the 200m in 26.11 and the 100m in 13.03.

Holly Rea achieved the same feet in the 14 year 100m and 200m.
