A man has faced court after the alleged stabbing of a man at a house party in Sydney’s northwest.
Emergency services were called to a home on Cornell Place in Rouse Hill about 9.30pm on March 6 after reports a man had been allegedly stabbed.
Hills police arrived on scene where they found a 22-year-old man with a stab wound to his back.
He was treated by paramedics and rushed to Westmead Hospital for surgery.
“He definitely was lucky and once again I’ll say it’s because of the efforts of the bystanders,” Kevin McSweeney from NSW Ambulance said at the time.
Three people were charged over the alleged assault.
One of the men, Apii-James ‘AJ’ Rata, fronted Parramatta Local Court for the first time on Wednesday.
The Kellyville man who was charged with common assault and assault occasioning harm wore a white buttoned down shirt and was accompanied by his stepfather in court.
Mr Rata was not legally represented and asked for his matter to be adjourned.
The 18-year-old man is alleged to have assaulted Nicholas Wright and Jayson Pellizer just before 10pm on March 6, according to court attendance notices.
Rata, who is on bail, will return to court on April 28.
The two others, who are both juveniles, are before the Children’s Court.
