A Baulkham Hills restaurant has proved diners do not need to leave the Hills for an authentic Middle Eastern experience.
Anais — owned by the same family as Jazzveh Woodfired Pizza in Bella Vista — recently celebrated its third anniversary.
With delicious Persian cuisine served by friendly and welcoming staff in a lovely lakeside restaurant, Anais has all the ingredients for a perfect night out.
The restaurant also has a dedicated hookha, or shisha, lounge area overlooking the lake.
Order a range of tapas to share and sit outside on a warm summer’s night to enjoy the view of the lake and bask in the glow of the pretty fairy lights.
Start with Tapas of Persia ($20, serves two to four people), which includes four traditional dips accompanied by a generous serving of bread.
For main, The Feast of Anais for Two ($49) allows diners to sample a range of the restaurant’s kebabs and was served with basmati rice, grilled tomato and bell peppers and a side salad.
End dinner on a high with Anais’ extensive range of homemade sweets, or try the delicious traditional homemade ice cream with flavours of rosewater, saffron and pistachios served with delicate Persian fairy floss ($8.50).
