NSW soccer clubs in the A-League and W-League are kicking in to help raise money as bushfires devastate the country.
The sporting community and fans have been quick to rally to the cause as thousands of homes have been destroyed and lives lost with the AFL and Netball Australia also consulting with their communities on how to help.
Sydney FC, the Western Sydney Wanderers, Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners and all other clubs in A-League and W-League will dedicate the next two rounds to raise funds to assist those impacted by the bushfire.

Both competitions were hosting drought relief fundraising in partnership with Rural Aid and their charity arm buyabale.com.au for the round beginning January 16 but fundraising will now extend over two rounds and incorporate both tragedies.
Eleven of the 12 clubs in the A-League will host home matches in rounds 14 and 15 and rounds nine and 10 of the W-League.
The games involving NSW teams in this state include Sydney FC v Brisbane Roar FC (W-League) at Leichhardt Oval on January 16, Wanderers FC v Perth Glory (W-League) and Wanderers FC v Perth Glory (A-League) at Bankwest Stadium on January 19.
At each of these matches fans will be able to show their appreciation to the emergency services and volunteers and donate to help families and their broader communities affected by the fires and drought.
The FFA said it will direct funds to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Appeal, Bushfire Disaster Appeal and Buy a Bale.
Tennis Australia will run a “Rally for Relief” exhibition match on Rod Laver Arena on January 15.
They will also donate proceeds from a Jessica Mauboy concert on January 19 to the Red Cross appeal and grant $1 million for communities to rebuild tennis facilities.
Nick Kyrgios is donating $200 per ace “that I hit across all the events I play this summer,’’ and Cricket Australia will open the gates to firefighters during two SCG one-dayers in March, when that trans-Tasman series will double as a fundraising drive.
CA is also auctioning signed playing shirts from the Boxing Day Test.
Champion jockey Tommy Berry will be donating $250 for every winner he rides through January.
“If I don’t ride enough (winners) I will top it up myself,’’ Berry said.
Winx’s jockey Hugh Bowman is on the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions sale and race day where he will join forces with the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phllips and the world’s greatest jockey Frankie Dettori to raise funds to support firefighters and bushfire victims.
