An alleged Rebels bikie accused of a violent stabbing after a crash sparked a road rage incident in Sydney’s southwest has faced court.
Aleksander Mahone, 31, has been charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, negligent driving, common assault, licence expired, use prohibited weapon and custody of a knife in a public place after a crash on Bartley St, Cabramatta about 5pm on Thursday.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were told a 26-year-old man had been sitting in his broken-down car when it was allegedly struck from behind by a ute.
According to documents tendered to court, Mahone allegedly stabbed the man three times to his stomach, arm and back.
Mahone, who was arrested at the scene, appeared before Fairfield Local Court on Friday via video link wearing a white T-shirt.
His lawyer Fadi Abbas requested his client’s case to be adjourned to so CCTV footage of the incident can be reviewed and an application for bail would be made at a later date.
The alleged victim was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Mahone has also been charged for unrelated domestic violence allegations dating back to 2017.
Police allege Mahone is a member of the Rebels bikie gang, after they found the gang’s colours at his Canley Heights address when he was arrested on March 28.
Documents tendered to court on those charges allege Mahone assaulted a woman between November 2017 and December 2022 at Panania and intentionally choked her without consent in April 2021.
He also allegedly assaulted another woman in January 2019 at Panania.
The court previously heard he allegedly punched a woman in the jaw and had been charged with breaching an interim AVO – put in place in December – by allegedly texting and emailing her in March.
When the domestic violence charges were mentioned in court in March, Mahone entered pleas of not guilty.
At Fairfield Local Court on Friday both proceedings were adjourned to return to court on Monday.
