Man allegedly commits sex act on Sydney train, near Merrylands

Police investigating reports of a man performing a sex act on a crowded Sydney train have released a picture of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Police investigating reports of a man performing a sex act on a crowded Sydney train have released a picture of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

About 8pm on June 1, a man boarded a train at Redfern station which was travelling towards Glenfield.

When the train was near Merrylands station, between 8:30pm and 8:40pm, the man allegedly committed a sexual act which caused other passengers to feel uncomfortable.

The man left the train at Canley Vale station about 8:40pm and the incident was reported to police.

Police have released images of a man wearing a red, white and black striped jumper, blue pants with white stripes and white or grey shoes, who officers believe could assist with their investigation.

He is described as being aged in his early 30s and of medium build.
