Snow fell at noon at Icetopia in Prairiewood on Saturday as a popular water park transformed into a winter wonderland for the school holidays.
Aquatopia at Prairiewood Leisure Centre is freezing over for the July break with a 250sq m ice-skating rink, a snow-making machine, music, lights, decorations and a food van on offer.
Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said it was a perfect way for western Sydney families to create unforgettably magical winter memories.
Icetopia is open from noon to 8.30pm for six hour-long skating sessions every day of the holidays.
Those who are less steady on their skates can also make use of skate aids for beginners.
When the ice melts, Aquatopia will play host to a new 20m six-lane racing slide and the Fishpipe ‒ a rotating, water-filled ball, in addition to the existing slides.
