High rise apartment towers planned for Fairfield
Plans have come to light for what could be the largest residential project yet for a western Sydney suburb. It comes as developers push to grow the area upwards with an emphasis on high-rise living.

The future looks sky-high in Fairfield with the latest plan flagged by developers set to feature seven apartment towers on land identified as key to the revitalisation of the city centre.
Developer Dyldam advertised the sprawling development across a 28,860 sqm site as one of its future projects.
“The proposed development will feature seven mixed use buildings of varying heights, which will include residential apartments and 3,510 sqm of commercial floor space,” the company said on its website.
Since receiving questions from the Fairfield Advance last week, the company has revised the web page, removing details about the number of towers and the size of the commercial floorspace.
“The site was acquired some years ago and no plans have been submitted as yet for its development,” a Dyldam spokesman said.
The site, located at 311 The Horsley Drive, holds promise for a couple of reasons.
A study adopted by Fairfield City Council identifies it as pivotal in the revitalisation of the city’s centre. According to the 2018 Urban Design Study, the site has “major potential for residential development taking advantage of Prospect Creek”.
This is the same study that identified Fairfield Forum Shopping Centre as prime for redevelopment, leading to plans for five apartment towers — one 25-storeys tall.
The second reason has to do with another Dyldam property being developed right across the road.
Work on a $150m apartment complex has begun at 356-358 The Horsley Drive. It runs the full length of the block, making it the neighbour of Neeta City Shopping Centre.
This four-tower property is about three times smaller, but it will feature 290 apartments and 1500 sqm of retail/business space.
Towers about eleven storeys tall are becoming commonplace in the city centre of Fairfield.
