Music, food, colour and culture will combine in a unique new festival in Fairfield this month.

Fairfield Live Art, Music and Entertainment (FLAME) Festival is a free event which will showcase talented western Sydney performers on April 6.

Several local businesses and public spaces will play host to the array of artists, allowing attendees to roam between venues across Fairfield’s city centre.

Mayor Frank Carbone said partnerships with local businesses would showcase the region’s talented community and authentic international cuisine.

“The festival combines great music, entertainment, food and culture,” Mr Carbone said.

“Plenty of musicians will perform contemporary pop, rock, hip-hop and other genres, but many performers will reflect Fairfield City’s proud cultural diversity.”

Musicians will take to the stage at The Crescent Plaza, The Crescent Hotel, Frank’s Lebanese, Kebab Abu Ali, De Mustachio, Aladin Sweets, Lost In Books, Green Peppercorn and Seven/Ten Split Bowling.

The line-up includes Campbelltown indie pop singer Mara Duke, Assyrian dance-rock act Azadoota, and Colombian-Australian singer-songwriter Luciana Valentina.

“It’s so important we bring these kinds of events to these areas,” Duke said.

“Fairfield is so diverse and it’s great to help make these streets more alive.”

Each location will have a carefully curated line-up with its own distinct musical flavour.

“The council and I are proud to provide exciting community events that bring people together in celebration of our City’s cultural diversity, while also providing musicians an opportunity to perform locally,” Mr Carbone said.

The council has encouraged attendees to share their best pictures and videos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the official hashtag #FLAME18.

All posts using the official hashtag will be automatically entered into a random draw to win a prize pack worth more than $300 which includes an instant camera, film, storage case and a movie voucher.
