Fairfield City Police Area Command had a cuppa with the community in Fairfield last week to celebrate Harmony Day.

Officers from the newly merged Police Area Command went down to Franky & Co at Neeta City in the weeks before the event to learn the art of the latte from the cafe’s baristas.

Fairfield City PAC crime co-ordinator Brett Grenfell said it was the first time police had made the coffee themselves.

“This really is a fantastic event that allows police and the public to mingle and have a chat about any topic,” Sen-Sgt Grenfell said.

“People like to have a chat about general policing issues or like to clarify a traffic rule and others like to chat about what’s just happened with their weekend footy team.”

The recurring event, which now alternates between locations in Fairfield and Cabramatta, is an opportunity for members of the community to meet with each other as well as local police and have a conversation and a coffee without an agenda.
