Fairfield crime news: boy charged with break and enter

A boy has been charged with allegedly breaking and entering a home last year and a man will face court after he was allegedly found with a 20cm knife in a public place.

A boy from Casula has been charged after a Bonnyrigg house was allegedly broken into on January 28. Fairfield City police conducted investigations and ultimately arrested a 16-year-old boy on February 7. He was charged with aggravated break and enter in company and granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Children’s Court on March 12. Inquiries are continuing in relation to other suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.

Several people were injured in a multi-car crash on February 10. At 1.35pm emergency services were called to the Northern Rd after a mini-van, a four-wheel drive and a truck collided. Six people travelling in the van suffered minor injuries and were taken to various hospitals. The most serious injury was a head laceration. The male driver of the four wheel drive was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police from Liverpool City Police Area Command are investigating the cause of the crash.

A Cabramatta boy, 15, missing for several days has been found safe and well. The teen absconded from his Condell Park school on February 7.

A 39-year-old Leumeah man has been charged with high range drink driving. On Saturday police stopped a vehicle on Devlin Way, Bonnyrigg. The driver produced a valid P2 driver’s licence but he recorded a positive breath test. The subsequent breath analysis returned a high range reading of 0.153. The man’s licence was suspended immediately and he is to appear at Fairfield Local Court on March 12.

A man has been charged with having possession of a knife. At 8.45am on February 6, police spoke to a man on Railway Pde, Canley Vale after receiving numerous complaints from the public. During a search police located a 20cm knife. The 46-year-old Lansvale man was charged and will appear at Liverpool Local Court on March 19.

Police have charged an 18-year-old woman with using offensive language, two counts of assaulting police and resisting arrest after a motor vehicle crash on Hickory Rd, Bonnyrigg. On February 8 the woman approached police while they were investigating the crash and began using offensive language with a small crowd that had gathered. She was warned numerous times but she continued and was arrested. The woman allegedly began thrashing her arms and legs, striking two police officers. The St Johns Park woman is to appear at Liverpool Local Court on February 19.

Police are investigating a fire that destroyed two vacant townhouses at Goulburn St on February 9. Police were called at 6.15am and arrived to find the properties engulfed in flames. The premises were vacant at the time and no one was injured. The fire was extinguished by several firefighters. Investigations into the circumstances of the fire are continuing.

Fairfield City Police Area Command are still finding property is being stolen from vehicles that have not been locked. About 10 to 15 per cent of thefts from motor vehicles occur simply because the vehicles are unlocked. Police have reminded residents not to leave the car running unattended, lock the car whenever they walk away from it, and fully close all windows and lock all doors before leaving the car.
