A man accused of surfing a moving car exited a western Sydney court belting a popular Metallica song, after being asked why he stood atop the SUV.

Elijah Freelander, 28, is alleged to have mounted the roof of a moving SUV, an act caught on camera by stunned motorists on March 13 at The Horsley Drive, Fairfield.

Exiting court on Tuesday, the young man suddenly yelled the lyrics to the popular metal song “Master of Puppets”.

“Your life burns faster, obey your master,” Freelander is heard yelling.

Stunned media were left speechless as Freelander exited the court grounds.

Freelander’s father, Gregory, 67, who allegedly drove the vehicle, pleaded not guilty to drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, while Elijah did not enter a plea for travel in/on part of vehicle not for passengers/good.

Gregory will face Fairfield Local Court on June 27 for brief reply while Elijah will face the same court on June 6.
