Woman fighting for life, police appeal for witnesses after hit-and-run in Greenfield Park in Sydney’s southwest

A 27-year-old woman has been rushed to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition after she was hit by a car in Sydney’s southwest. Police are searching for the driver who left the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run in Sydney’s southwest left a woman fighting for her life.

Emergency services were called to Smithfield Rd in Greenfield Park shortly before 8.30pm on Sunday following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

Officers were told the car did not stop after the crash, and left the scene prior to arrival of emergency services.

Paramedics treated a 27-year-old woman before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Police closed Smithfield Road in both directions and established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
