A mystery millionaire was made in one of Sydney’s luckiest suburbs last night after a winning Lotto ticket scored a prize of $1 million in Monday’s draw.
An unregistered player won the whopping division one prize on a Lotto ticket they bought in Lotto draw 3756 at Cabramatta’s Saigon Bookshop and Lottery on Park Rd.
NSW Lotteries spokesman Matt Hart said he was eager to confirm the division one news with Cabramatta’s latest winner and urged all Lotto players to check their tickets.
“While we don’t know the identity of the winning ticketholder, I’m sure they’d love to discover they are now an overnight millionaire,” he said.
“If you purchased an entry in this Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance.”
The six winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3756 on April 16 were 11, 35, 37, 15, 10 and 40, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 20.
It is the second time in five weeks a Cabramatta Lotto player has taken home an astonishing division one Lotto prize.
A Cabramatta tradie is planning to upgrade his house after he won more than $658,000 in a Saturday Lotto draw last month.
Last year, Cabramatta was named as one of NSW’s Lotto Hotspots after four division one winning entries were sold in the suburb, delivering an unbelievable $18,666,666.67 in division one prize money to players.
The mystery millionaire won their prize after new lottery draw machines were deployed for Saturday Lotto, Monday and Wednesday Lotto, Oz Lotto and Powerball draws on Monday.
The new draw equipment replaces lottery machines that have been in use for more than 20 years.
New, vividly-coloured lottery balls are equipped with radio frequency identification (RFID), allowing the machines to automatically and instantly “read” each ball number as soon as it is drawn.
THE LUCKY REGION
An ecstatic Fairfield granddad has won $100,000 in the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The retired man’s entry won first prize in draw 10222 today (April 17).
The long-time Lucky Lotteries player, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he couldn’t believe his own good fortune.
The winner was oblivious to his good fortune until a NSW Lotteries official delivered the happy news.
“You are joking! You are joking me!” he exclaimed.
“This is just amazing. I can’t believe it.
“I’m holding my head and my wife’s crying her eyes out.”
In addition to winning the first prize, the man’s entry of two consecutive numbers also scored a $1,000 consolation prize.
