From muscle to music, Bring It On! Festival had it all

This year’s Bring It On! Festival was a huge success with thousands packing the Fairfield Showground on Sunday.

MORE than 4000 people enjoyed Bring It On! Festival at the Faifield Showground, savouring the entertainment while gaining an insight into pressing topics of the day, including climate action.

One of the most entertaining in this 17th edition was the Fairfield Warrior competition, which saw contestants — including those from Central Coast — pitting their endurance and strength over the nine-obstacle course for the $1000 prizes on Sunday.

Cameron McLintock, 28, from East Gosford, emerged champion in the open category, completing the course in just 59 seconds.

Saratoga’s Gemma Rolfe, 23, lifted the women’s title with her time of 1:52 seconds.

In the Fairfield Warrior school age competition, Freeman Catholic College siblings Ivana 17, and Nikola Jozo Djakovic, 16, took home the respective male and female titles and $500 each.

X-Factor finalist Vlado Saric proved a popular act and along with Rachael Fahim and local band Yours Truly and other acts, delighted the crowds.

“Bring It On! Festival is just the start of council’s 2018 NSW Youth Week program, with

other great events being held each day until Monday. April 23,” Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone said.

“I encourage young people in Fairfield city to take part in our many fun, interesting and

educational Youth Week activities.”

Evens include a live music event at Bonnyrigg Youth Centre, an open day at Bonnyrigg Skate Park, an outdoor movie screening of Wonder Woman and a climate action table talk at Nalawala Sustainability Centre.
