Bristol St, Merrylands West: Raptor Squad investigating public shooting after home sprayed with bullets

After a home in Sydney’s west was sprayed with multiple bullets, NSW Police’s bikie-focused organised crime specialists have taken helm of the investigation and are encouraging members of the public to come forward.

NSW Police are urging the public to come forward with information after a home in Sydney’s west was sprayed with bullets in October.

About 1.40am on Wednesday, October 26, police was called to a home on Bristol St, Merrylands West, following reports of shots fired.

On arrival, police found several bullet holes in the front of the home, which had two people inside at the time.

Niether of them were injured and a crime scene was established and forensically examined.

After local police conducted the initial inquiries, the shooting was referred to the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad under Strike Force Helio.

The Raptor Squad is primarily known for its successful investigations and arrests of members belonging to outlawed motorcycle gangs and organised crime networks.

Police allege a pistol was found on a nature strip on Doonside Rd, Doonside, the day after the shooting.

Police say the firearm was seized and will be subject to further forensic and ballistic examination.

Inquiries surrounding the circumstances of the shooting continue.
