A MAN will appear in Fairfield Local Court today after the alleged armed robbery of a woman with a baby at the Nelson Street carpark on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old man was arrested in Fairfield before being taken to Fairifield Police Station and charged.
Police allege a woman was robbed at knifepoint by a man who jumped into her car.
Police say the woman had walked back to her car in the Nelson Street carpark just after 5pm yesterday where she strapped her baby into the car seat.
They allege she had just got into the drivers seat when a man armed with a knife jumped into the car and threatened her, demanding cash.
The woman handed over a sum of cash and other personal items, before the man jumped out and was last seen running toward Ware Street.
Neither the woman or child were injured during the incident.
