A man has been charged after allegedly taking police on a wild chase before crashing into a Central West home. Here’s the latest.

A man who allegedly led police on a wild pursuit before crashing into a home in the state’s central west has been charged with a string of driving, firearm and drug-offences.
About 12.20pm on Thursday, police were patrolling the Wellington area when they noticed a Toyota Camry allegedly travelling at an excessive speed on Thornton St.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however when it failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
Police claim the vehicle left the roadway before crashing through a fence and into a home.
The 35-year-old driver attempted to flee on foot before he was arrested and escorted to Dubbo Police Station.
No occupants of the home were injured.
During a search of his vehicle, officers allegedly located an authorised pistol and drugs.
Patrick Mark Button was charged with driving dangerously during a police pursuit, never obtaining a licence and driving, assaulting a police officer and two counts of possessing prohibited drugs.
Button was also charged with firearm-related offences, including possessing an unauthorised pistol, possessing an unregistered firearm and acquiring a pistol subject to firearms prohibition order.
The man has been refused bail and will appear at Dubbo Local Court on December 20.
