A teenager has been charged after he allegedly drove drunk before crashing into a tree in Orange, leaving his 17-year-old passenger in a critical condition.

Police have charged a teenage driver following a serious car crash in Orange that has left a teenage passenger in critical condition.
Emergency services were called to Coronation Dr, Orange at about 12.30am on Friday after reports a Subaru Impreza had crashed into a tree.
A 17-year-old boy, who was the front-seat passenger in the vehicle, obtained serious injuries in the crash and was flown to Westmead Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The 17-year-old driver and a 14-year-old girl, who was a back-seat passenger, escaped uninjured.
A crime scene was established by Central West Police District which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
The male driver, who holds a learner licence, underwent a breath test at the scene which allegedly returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis that allegedly returned a reading of 0.164.
Police charged the teenager with five offences including aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA), aggravated driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive under the influence, drive with high-range PCA, negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm), and learner not accompanied by driver/police officer/tester.
The boy was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at a children’s court on February 2.
His licence has also been suspended.
