Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man in the state’s central west with alleged child abuse material offences.
Strike Force Glandore was established by State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad Child Internet Exploitation Unit to investigate an Orange man’s alleged involvement in accessing, possessing and sharing child abuse material.
Strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Orange, about 7.10am on Monday, where they arrested a 21-year-old man.
During a search of the property, police located and seized a gel-blaster pistol and electronics relevant to their investigation.
The man was taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with using a carriage service to access child abuse material, using a carriage service to publish or promote child abuse material and using the service to solicit child abuse material.
He was also charged with possessing an authorised pistol and breaching bail.
The man was refused bail and appeared in Orange Local Court on Tuesday, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on July 25.
