Sherin Jackson: Tributes flow for woman who died in Dubbo house fire on Freshwater Dr

Close family and friends of a “beautiful soul” are paying tribute following a woman’s sudden death in a horrific house fire in the state’s central west. Read the touching tributes below.

A young woman killed in a tragic early morning fire in the state’s central west has been remembered as a “beautiful soul” by friends and family.

Emergency services were called to a home on Freshwater Dr, Dubbo, after reports of a house fire just before 4am on Thursday.

Sherin Jackson, 33, was pulled from the house unconscious and died in Dubbo Base Hospital about 6.40pm on Friday.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended the fire, along with Orana Mid-Western Police District, and extinguished the blaze however the home was destroyed.

At the time, Ms Jackson was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Friends and family posted tributes on her Facebook page stating they were “shocked” when they heard the news.

“There you were celebrating life as always, beaming with life, fun, love, living life thoroughly like a queen that you are,” a Facebook post said.

“You grabbed life by its wings and flew with it.

“What a wonderful legacy you have left behind, all the lives you have touched.

“You left an indelible mark on me of how humble, kind, funny, chilled out you were.

“Such a beautiful soul.”

Another post stated Ms Jackson left the world filled with “lots of memories” in many hearts.

“You have gone but your memories will be remembered by many,” the post read.

“May God give strength to your family.”

A firefighter and two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital for assessment and observation.

A crime scene was established with forensic examinations undertaken, however the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
