A young mother who died after a horrific car crash in the state’s central west is being remembered as the light in her partner and daughters’ lives.

Shellymaine Ah Foon died on April 5, after a two car crash on Castlereagh Hwy, Aarons Pass, south of Mudgee, on the way to a wedding with her family.

Emergency services attended the scene just after 2pm after reports a southbound ute and a northbound SUV collided.

The 32-year-old was a front-seat passenger of the SUV.

Her partner was flown to Westmead Hospital with fractures to both limbs on his left side while a six-year-old and a two-year-old were taken by ambulance to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

They remain in a stable condition.

Tributes have been flooding in for Ms Ah Foon, whose friends and family have honoured her memory with kind words and donations to a GoFundMe page organised by a family friend.

More than $46,800 had been raised by Monday afternoon, with a goal of $48,000 to cover funeral expenses and financial support for her family.

“Shellymaine was a woman of faith with a strong devotion to her family and was unapologetically herself. She was daring, she was brave, she spoke with conviction and she was unproblematic,” the post read.

“She enjoyed the simple things in life and lived by her own rulebook.

“Their world has changed forever and the love their mum gave them will never be replicated ever again.

“All funds raised will help during this tragic and challenging time for the little family, while they navigate life without ‘mummy’.

“Shellymaine was a mum, a daughter, a sister, an Aunty, a cousin and a truly loyal friend.

“We love you, Shelly. May you rest in internal peace.”

The 54-year-old driver of the ute was taken to Mudgee Hospital with minor injuries and for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and investigations are now underway into the circumstances leading to the crash.
