Shane Glynn: Former Dubbo BCF manager, coach fronts court

A popular member of the Dubbo community allegedly sent indecent material to someone he thought was a 13-year-old child.

A former junior sports coach from Dubbo has been charged with using a carriage service to send indecent material to an undercover cop who was posing as a 13-year-old child.

Shane Thomas Glynn also allegedly used the carriage service to transmit communication police claim was intended to make it easier for him to procure the recipient for sex.

The 47-year-old has entered no pleas to the two child exploitation charges.

The offences allegedly occurred at Glynn’s home and at the BCF store on Erskine Street which he previously managed.

Detectives from the Child Exploitation Internet Unit arrested Mr Glynn in July.

His case was mentioned briefly in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.

Magistrate Gary Wilson adjourned the case to November 18.

Mr Glynn was previously coach of the Westside Panthers Football Club under-13 boy’s team and a supporter of the Dubbo Basketball Association’s youth sides.
