Ashton Edwards charged over alleged role in Bourke carjacking
A second man has been charged over an alleged late night carjacking which left two women in Bourke terrified and robbed of their bank cards, cash and handbags.

A 21-year-old man accused of taking part in a terrifying late night carjacking attack on two women in Bourke last month has been refused bail in court.
Ashton Edwards, a resident of Engonnia, 98 kilometres north of Bourke, was arrested by police in Dubbo on Saturday night.
Edwards, who is the father of a two-year-old, was charged with aggravated robbery and knowingly be transported in stolen conveyance.
Police allege Edwards, Derryam Grimes and another unknown man targeted two women in Darling Street shortly after midnight on September 20.
The women – aged 55 and 53 – were in a Mercedes Coupe which was allegedly stolen by Grimes.
Edwards and Grimes are accused of stealing the women’s handbags which contained house keys, bank cards and $300 cash.
Neither men have entered pleas to any of the charges.
Edwards’s application for bail was refused on Sunday.
His case was mentioned briefly in Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday and no release application was made.
The case returns to court in November.
