Salt Therapy Dubbo: Amy Isbister, Christie Eves start new business

Far from being salty, the women behind a first-of-its-kind business in Dubbo say there’s nothing like it anywhere in the central west.

Tired, sore and stressed residents in Dubbo are some of those set to benefit from the opening of a new cave containing 250 kilograms of salt.

Amy Isbister and Christie Eves are preparing to open Align Health and Healing at 34 Bultje Street and the business will home to Dubbo’s first salt cave.

“There’s no other salt therapy that we know of close by, the salt therapy is what sets this apart,” Ms Eves said.

“It’s still under construction … you’ll be able to come in, put white socks on and then you’ll sit and breathe in the salt air.”

Ms Isbister said people would spend about 45 minutes in the cave and the experience was designed to help address sleeping, respiratory, skin and stress problems.

The cave forms part of the business partners new “holistic healing hub” which will deliver a mix of alternative health and therapy services under one roof, along with crystal and salt product offerings.

“There’s nothing like this anywhere in the central west, the closest thing is Newcastle,” Ms Isbister said.

“We’ve got the salt therapy, hypnotherapy, energy healing, we’ll have life coaches, massage therapists, meditation, yoga and workshops.”

Yoga, reiki and kinesiology are some of the other services the pair plan to offer and they’re hoping to get men on board with their vision.

“We are seeking practitioners to come in and do some stuff to help with men’s health because both of us come from farming families and we understand what the drought does to people, we know what’s been going on out in the community and we want to help if we can,” Ms Isbister said.

“We will have a revolving door of weekly practitioners that could change, it might be a chiro one week, it might be a counsellor … it will be aimed at the whole community, not anyone specific.”

Ms Eves said the decision to open the business was made three months ago and recruitment of qualified practitioners was still underway.

“We know that this is the right thing to do because we’re believers in energy and universal attraction and everything has just flowed and been easy,” she said.

“We’re looking for therapists who are qualified and anyone that’s different in their field of alternative healing.”

Align Health and Healing is expected to open on February 10.
