Methylamphetamine, cannabis, fentanyl and diazepam were among the drugs a Wellington man took before he repeatedly punched his terrified girlfriend and dragged her out of a neighbour’s cupboard.

Ray Hammond, 29, was found unconscious with saliva gathering in the corner of his mouth when the woman returned to her Champagne Drive home in Dubbo on February 8.

According to a statement of agreed police facts, Hammond regained consciousness and became irate after the woman tried to wipe his mouth.

She ran to the bathroom and was repeatedly punched by Hammond.

When the woman tried to escape, Hammond took off in her car and crashed it into a tree on a neighbouring street.

The terrified woman knocked on a neighbour’s door and begged to be let in.

“Let us in, let us in, he’s going to kill us,” the woman told her neighbour.

Hammond returned to the Champagne Drive home and went to the neighbour’s house to find the woman.

“Open the door you slut,” Hammond said as he broke the front door frame, stormed into the home and punched another occupant.

The woman ran into a bedroom and hid in a cupboard.

Hammond found her and dragged her out, but he fled after she said police had been called.

When officers arrived Hammond jumped a fence and ran across a nearby rail corridor.

He then ran off into an empty paddock with his middle finger raised yelling “F*** off cops”.

Police chased Hammond for 500 metres before they were able to arrest him.

In Dubbo Local Court Hammond pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated break and enter.

He will next appear in the District Court on October 9.
