A man and woman are on remand after a mega cannabis blitz in the state’s central west, including the seizure of more than 1700 cannabis plants. Here’s what we know.

A man and a woman who have been charged following a large-scale drug bust involving more than 1700 cannabis plants in the state’s central west are in custody on remand.

Orana Mid-Western Police District officers attended a property on the Oxley Hwy, Rocky Glen, about 34km north-east of Coonabarabran, around 5.45pm on Saturday following reports of the alleged cultivation of cannabis.

During a search of the property, officers located a large quantity of cannabis leaf and over 1700 cannabis plants.

A 31-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Coonabarabran police station.

Quoc Huy Tryong and Thy Bich Thi LA were both charged with knowingly take part-cultivate over commercial quantity-cannabis and taking part in the supply of a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

The pair were refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Sunday, where they were formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on May 31.
