Police operation underway in Dubbo following police pursuit

A police operation in underway in the state’s west following an alleged vehicle theft subsequent pursuit.

About 10.30am on Thursday, Orana Mid-Western Police District officers attempted to stop a Toyota Fortuner on Armstrong Crescent at Dubbo.

A NSW Police statement revealed the Toyota failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated, however, it was “terminated” due to safety concerns.

Upon further investigation, the Toyota was allegedly stolen from a Dubbo residence early morning and involved in a prior pursuit with around 3am.

“Further reports have been made to police by motorists who have seen the vehicle allegedly driving in a dangerous manner throughout Dubbo,” the statement said.

The vehicle was found abandoned in Tink Avenue.

Police have established a perimeter and are searching the surrounding area for those involved.
