Police allegedly seize $250k worth of vehicles, $35k in cash, meth and cannabis in raids at Dubbo, Wellington and Mumbil
Raids on three regional towns have seen nine people arrested after police allegedly seized hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of vehicles, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, kilograms of cannabis and almost three ounces of meth.

Nine people have been dramatically arrested in a series of co-ordinated raids across multiple regional towns as police allegedly seize hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of vehicles, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, kilograms of cannabis and almost three ounces of meth.
The raids – on properties at Dubbo, Wellington and Mumbil – followed a seven-month investigation by Orana Mid-Western detectives which police allege has dismantled a “large scale” drug syndicate operating out of the state’s Central West.
Police said Strike Force Meridan was established in July last year to investigate the “organised supply of drugs in the Orana region”.
Together with Western Region operations support group personnel, detectives executed the multiple simultaneous search warrants about 7.45am on Tuesday.
“During the searches strike force officers located and seized over $250,000 worth of vehicles including boats, cars, motorcycles and a caravan, $35,000 in cash, 6.5kg of cannabis, and 67 grams of methylamphetamine,” police said in a statement.
Nine people – eight men and a 27-year-old woman – were arrested and taken to Dubbo and Wellington police stations.
Four of them were later charged with offences relating to Strike Force Meridan.
The woman was charged with 58 drug-related offences including 49 supply counts, including large commercial quantities and supplying on an ongoing basis.
She was also charged with knowingly direct activities of a criminal group, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and being the owner/occupier knowingly allow it to be used as a drug premises.
A man, 33, was also slapped with 58 offences, including 45 drug supply charges including dealing with a large commercial quantity and on an ongoing basis.
He was also charged with knowingly direct activities of a criminal group, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and being the owner/occupier knowingly allow it to be used as a drug premises.
A 22-year-old man was charged with 14 drug supply offences and one count of participating in a criminal group.
A 30-year-old man was charged with three counts of supply a prohibited drug, two counts of larceny and one count of participating in a criminal group.
All four people were refused bail and appeared in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
Investigations under Strike Force Meridan continue and more arrests expected.
