Operation Spoiler: 15 people charged in Dubbo road blitz
More than a dozen people have been charged with traffic offences after a five-day police blitz in the state’s central west.

More than 600 random breath tests and drug tests have been conducted in the state’s central west during a five-day operation aimed at targeting drink-driving and road-related crimes.
Operation Spoiler is a high-visibility road policing operation targeting criminal activity and anti-social behaviour on regional roads.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers, with assistance from nine Traffic Response Group motorcyclists and three highway patrol vehicles, charged fifteen people with traffic-related offences and issued more than 200 traffic infringement notices.
The operation was conducted from September 19 to 22 in Dubbo, Mudgee, Gilgandra, Dunedoo and surrounding areas.
The operation conducted 451 random breath tests, with three positive results returned, 265 drug tests, with 43 positive tests returned, 205 traffic infringement notices, including 83 speed-related offences, 22 mobile phone offences and 10 seatbelt-related offences,
One in six drivers were driving under the influence of drugs, while 11 traffic charges and four criminal charges were laid.
A total of two ounces of cannabis and two knives were seized during the operation.
A motorcyclist who was clocked riding 147km/h in a 100km/h zone on Goolma Rd, Goolma, was also clocked riding 132km/h in a 100km/h on Gollan Rd, Gollan.
The rider was detected only minutes after the first offence.
