Narromine man allegedly bit police officer after breaching bail

A man who allegedly bit a police officer on the arm in the NSW Central West has been charged with assault.

A man allegedly scratched and bit a police officer in the NSW Central West, following his arrest for allegedly breaching bail.

About 8.30pm on Tuesday, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended a home on Dandaloo St, Narromine, to speak with a man who they believed had breached bail.

After speaking with the 38-year-old man, he was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

Upon arrival at the station, the man allegedly resisted police in the dock, thrashing about before biting an officer on the arm.

The Sergeant attended Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment of the bite wound and multiple scratches.

The 38-year-old man was charged with two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty, cause actual bodily harm, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today.
