Narromine: Man, 41, charged over firearm offences and man, 48, referred to Australian Border Force

A man from the state’s central west has been referred to Australian Border Force, while another man is behind bars on remand for firearm charges. Here’s what we know.

A man is behind bars on remand and other has been referred to Australian Border Force following a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) search in the state’s central west.

Police officers attended a home on Old Backwater Rd, Narromine, about 9am, to execute a firearm search.

During a search of the home, officers located drugs when they stopped the FPO search and executed a search warrant.

Officers located and seized cannabis, methylamphetamine, crash, drug paraphernalia and a firearm part.

The 41-year-old man was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime and firearm found at premises-subject to prohibition order.

The 48-year-old man has been detained and is being referred to Australian Border Force.

The man appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday, where he was formally refused bail to appear at Narromine Local Court on May 9.
