A house fire is under investigation after the premises was ‘completely destroyed’ by a blaze overnight. Here are the details.

Firefighters preventing fire from spreading to neighbours homes in Narromine

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters have tackled a house fire at a home in the state’s central west, preventing the blaze from spreading to neighbouring properties.

Crews from Narromine and Trangie responded to a blaze on Moss Ave, Narromine, about 40km west of Dubbo, alongside Rural Fire Service, NSW Police and NSW Ambulance, around 11.30pm on Tuesday night.

On arrival, crews were confronted with a well-alight home and worked to extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries reported and the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Region West Zone commander and superintendent Anthony Hojel has commended the efforts of the crew.

“While unfortunately this home was completely destroyed, our firefighters were able to stop it from spreading to neighbouring properties,” superintendent Hojel said.

“This is a timely reminder for residents to make sure they have at least one working smoke alarm in their home.

“We can’t smell smoke when we’re asleep, so a working smoke alarm could be the only thing that helps you get out if your house catches fire.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
