A man has been charged with murder following an investigation into the death of a man in the state’s central west last month.
Emergency services were called to a home on Margaret Cres, Dubbo, just after midnight, following reports of a stabbing.
On arrival, officers attached to Orana-Mid Western Police District located a man, aged 29, suffering multiple stab wounds to his chest.
A crime scene was established, and investigations into the death commenced under Strike Force Honefoss.
Following inquiries, about 10.30am on Tuesday, detectives visited a correctional facility in Grafton where they arrested and charged 39-year-old Newcastle man Mark Peckham with murder.
Peckham made no application for bail, he was refused bail and will reappear to Dubbo Local Court on November 16.
