Man, 22, charged with string of traffic-related offences following serious alleged drink-driving crash
A man has been hit with a string of charges after he allegedly crashed into a tree, with a passenger in the car, while drunk in the state’s central west.

A man has been hit with a string of charges after he allegedly crashed into a tree, with a passenger in the car, while drunk in the state’s central west.
Emergency services were called to the Castlereagh Highway at Burrundulla, about 9km south-east of Mudgee, following reports of a single-vehicle crash about 12.30am on April 1.
Police were told a white Commodore left the road and crashed into a tree before coming to rest in the bushes.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated two male occupants – both aged 22 – at the scene.
The passenger was flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, while the driver was taken to Mudgee Hospital in a stable condition and underwent mandatory testing.
The passenger has since been released from hospital.
More than three months later, the driver attended Rose Bay Police Station on Saturday afternoon.
He was charged with multiple traffic-related offences and issued a future court attendance notice.
Police said the man had been charged with high-range drink-driving, aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm while driving more than 45km/h over the speed limit, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm while driving under the influence, and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
He was also charged with driving a vehicle at more than 45km/h over the speed limit and negligent driving.
The Sydney man is due to face Mudgee Local Court on September 3.
