A foul-mouthed Dubbo martial artist who took his craft outside the dojo has copped a fine in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
In the early hours of Sunday, March 6, a drunken and shirtless Jordan Yeo instigated an on-foot police pursuit around the Dubbo CBD.
Court documents revealed when police sighted the 22-year-old stumbling through town at around 12.30am and when they asked him to speak with them he slurred “I don’t have to f****** stop for you c****”.
Yeo, the father of an infant, attempted to evade the police by fleeing down a lane leading to Bligh St before they received a call stating a male, fitting his description, had been attempting to punch on with passers-by on Macquarie St earlier in the evening.
Police located a still rowdy Yeo a short time later and ordered him to move out of the town centre, however, he was spotted five minutes later; when police approached him, he yelled “Don’t f****** touch me”.
Officers struggled to place Yeo under arrest and required a three-second burst of pepper spray to get him under control so they could handcuff him.
Yeo was treated by NSW Ambulance with medical decontamination and was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with refusing to comply and resisting arrest.
Yeo pleaded guilty to the two charges in court on Wednesday where Magistrate Gary Wilson scolded the young man’s actions.
“There’s no excuses for that sort of behaviour and there is no excuse to talk to police in the manner that you did,” the magistrate said
“They were just doing their job.”
Magistrate Wilson said he considered Yeo’s clean record when slapping him on the wrist with a $250 fine for each offence.
