An elderly woman was allegedly held at knifepoint by a teenager in the state’s central west before he allegedly stole her car and was chased by police.

A teenager has been arrested after he allegedly held an elderly woman at knifepoint before he stole her car in the state’s central west.
Chifley Police District officers were called to a Fitzroy Ave home in Cowra following reports of a break and enter about 4.30pm on October 10.
Officers were told an unknown teenager had broken into the home and robbed a 71-year-old woman at knifepoint while she was in her loungeroom, before stealing her car.
The police located the alleged stolen vehicle travelling on Redfern St, Cowra, a short time later.
A pursuit was initiated but terminated a short time later because of safety concerns.
A crime scene was established at the home and an investigation into the incident was commenced.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested at Cowra Police Station on Monday, where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit a serious indictable offence while arms, stalk and intimidation and dishonestly obtain property by deception.
He was also charged with stealing a vehicle, driving while never obtaining a licence and not stopping during a police pursuit.
He was refused bail by a children’s court on Tuesday to reappear before the court on October 28.
